Role Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic Media Lecturer to join our team in Norwich. This pivotal role involves delivering high-quality teaching and learning experiences within our media courses, inspiring students to develop their skills and critical understanding of media production and theory. As a key member of the Education team, you will contribute to curriculum development, assessment, and the overall enhancement of our media provision.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging and effective media lectures, workshops, and practical sessions to students.
  • Develop and update course materials, ensuring content is current and relevant to the media industry.
  • Assess and provide constructive feedback on student work, supporting their progression and achievement.
  • Support students' academic and personal development through tutorials and mentoring.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to design and implement curriculum improvements and innovative teaching methods.
  • Maintain accurate records of attendance, assessment, and student progress in line with institutional policies.
  • Engage with industry contacts to enhance the real-world relevance of the course and create opportunities for students.
  • Participate in departmental meetings, staff development, and quality assurance processes.

Qualifications & Experience

  • A degree or equivalent qualification in Media, Film, Digital Media, or a related subject.
  • Teaching qualification such as PGCE, Cert Ed, or Level 5 Diploma in Education and Training (or willingness to achieve this).
  • Proven experience teaching media subjects, preferably within further or higher education settings.
  • Strong knowledge of media theory, production techniques, and digital technologies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage and motivate students.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • A commitment to continuous professional development and inclusive teaching practices.
